⁶ They must be holy to their God^(A) and must not profane the name of their God.^(B) Because they present the food offerings to the Lord,^(C) the food of their God,^(D) they are to be holy.^(E)

⁷ “‘They must not marry women defiled by prostitution or divorced from their husbands,^(A) because priests are holy to their God.^(B)

⁹ “‘The priests are to perform my service^(A) in such a way that they do not become guilty^(B) and die^(C) for treating it with contempt. I am the Lord, who makes them holy.^(D)

¹⁶ by allowing them to eat^(A) the sacred offerings and so bring upon them guilt^(B) requiring payment.^(C) I am the Lord, who makes them holy.^(D)’”
